Student Auditions for Winds of WisconsinAudition date: September 27, 1:00-6:00 pmStudents will prepare a solo or an etude that demonstrates their musicianship and technical facility through contrasting tempos and styles. An accompanist is not necessary. Five minutes maximum. Students will be asked to play two major scales of the judges' choice, as well as a chromatic scale, to demonstrate range and facility. Sightreading will be provided, and you will be asked to play audition excerpts for your instrument from the following list: Click on the instrument you will be auditioning with to print a copy of your audtion excerpts: piccolo, flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, cornet, trombone, french horn, baritone/euphonium, tuba, percussion, timpani. Percussionists should prepare excerpts for two of the following three instruments: mallets, timpani, and/or snare. Required audition excerpts for percussion and timpani are provided above. Please contact WOW staff in the week prior to your audition to let them know what your instrument requirements are for the audition room.
