How to Apply to Winds of Wisconsin

Admission deadline: September 20, 2011

Teacher recommendations are required.

Music Teachers: Please send us your student recommendations from your school program for woodwind, brass and percussionists in grades 9-12. We rely on your recommendations for success in Winds of Wisconsin. Please e-mail (maaley@wisc.edu) or fax (608-265-0452) your recommendations to us by September 20, 2011 and include:

• Student name

• Instrument

• Grade in school

• Address and phone number

• E-mail address*

*Important: As the time between deadline for nomination and when the audition takes place is short, e-mail helps students to receive their audition information quickly.

The application process involves four steps:

1. Teacher recommends students for participation.

2. Student receives application from teacher or by mail or e-mail from Winds of Wisconsin staff.

3. Winds of Wisconsin staff receive the student application by September 20, 2011 and contacts the student by e-mail with an assigned audition time.

4. Auditions take place in the Humanities Building on the UW-Madison campus on September 25, 2011. 

We are happy to send information to students based on teacher recommendations. We will also provide applications for teachers to distrubute. Students will be notified on their status within a week of their audition. If they are accepted to be participants for the Winds of Wisconsin 2011-2012 season they will be expected to pay a tuition fee of $150.
