Welcome to Summer Session at UW-Madison
Who enrolls in Summer Session?
UW-Madison Summer Session classes and programs are attended by a diverse group of students for a variety of reasons. Some of the people who find summer an especially exciting and useful time for learning, either on or off campus, are:
Current UW-Madison students who want to:
- Take a special program available only in the summer
- Expand their horizons by studying elsewhere in the U.S. and in Canada, Latin America, and a dozen countries around the world during the summer
- Finish their degree sooner
University Special and Guest students such as:
- Professionals in a range of disciplines, including teaching, human services, engineering, business, and many others
- People considering or in the midst of a career change
- Summer visitors from another college or university who want to pick up another class before returning to their home institution
- Wisconsin seniors 60 and older, who audit lecture classes free
