Description

Are you in the position of having to conduct a workshop but you’ve never had any training on adult education? Have you been doing the same old workshop for months and are looking for some ways to liven it up a bit? Are you tired of doing all the talking in your workshops and want to find ways to get your audience more involved?

Your instructor

Glean some kernels of wisdom from a seasoned trainer who has worked with audiences ranging from doctors and tradeswomen to 5th grade peer helpers. Kathy Germann has conducted workshops from one hour to five days on a variety of topics including body image, conflict resolution, unlearning racism and strategic planning. She is a former manager of a training unit in a human services agency and is currently operating her own consulting and training business specializing in diversity issues, conflict resolution, and team development.

Schedule: 8:15 am (registration) 8:30 am-4:30 pm (workshop)

Location: The Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St., Madison, WI, 608-262-1122. Parking information will be sent with your enrollment information. The building is wheelchair accessible.

Fees: $145. Workshop fees include instruction, materials, refreshment breaks, and a non-refundable administrative fee of $20. Lunch is on your own.

Registraiton deadline: Please register at least one week before the workshop. Enrollment is limited to 25.

Cancellation policy: If you are unable to attend or arrange for a substitute, you may obtain a refund minus the $20 administrative fee by contacting our registration department at least 3 business days prior to the program. If you cancel 3 business days or less before the program, or do not attend, you are responsible for the entire fee. To cancel or arrange for a substitute, please call 800-725-9692.

Credit: 0.7 Continuing Education Units (CEU) will be awarded for full participation. The program falls within the subject matter identified by the following organizations for continuing education credits.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Professional Development and Applied Studies, (Provider #1042) is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (800-225-6880) through the Approved Continuing Education program. The University of Wisconsin-Madison, PDAS, maintains responsibility for the program.
