In this workshop for health professionals, participants learn about the uses of imagery to impact mental and physical health and well-being. The workshop combines didactic material and experiential exercises. Imagery material comes from Eastern meditation traditions and from Western psychological traditions.
This one-day program is designed for professionals such as social workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and other health professionals who work with adults challenged by health concerns or simply wanting to establish and maintain healthy habits.

Melinda M. Bailey (PhD in clinical psychology, University of Indiana) is a licensed psychologist and an experienced, highly regarded presenter and teacher. She has used hypnosis, the language of trance, and stories in her clinical practice for 15 years and has extensive experience in direct and indirect techniques. Formerly the coordinator of psychological services at Beloit College, she is now in private practice in Madison. |

Fees: $125 includes instruction, program materials, refreshments, 0.6 Continuing Education Unit (CEU), and a $20 nonrefundable administration fee. UW-Madison is an approved provider by the Wisconsin Psychological Examining Board to offer continuing education for psychologists.
UW-Madison, Professional Development and Applied Studies, is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines.
Registration deadlines: Register early. If you are not able to attend the program, you may send a substitute.
Cancellation policy: If you are unable to participate in a group class or arrange for a substitute, you may obtain a refund minus the $20 administrative fee by contacting our registration department at least 3 business days prior to the program. If you cancel 3 business days or less before the program, or do not participate, you are responsible for the entire fee. To cancel or arrange for a substitute, please call 800-725-9692. No refund is given for cancellation of an Independent Study class. Exceptions to this policy will be determined by CPM program staff on a case-by-case basis.
