The Case Management Certificate Series

Be prepared to work as a care manager in the new integrated long-term care system. Young Woman talking with Older Woman

The Case Management Certificate program is a continuing education training series for professionals in the field of aging and long-term care. There are two levels of certificates: introduction to case management and advanced case management.

All seminars are open enrollment and are held at the Pyle Center on campus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This program is developed and coordinated by Suzanna Waters Castillo, PhD, Faculty Associate for the Department of Professional Development and Applied Studies (PDAS).

From National Association of Social Workers (NASW) standards for Social Work Case Management:

"Each Social Work Case Manager shall assume personal responsibility for continuing professional education. He/she should complete 90 hours of such education every three years in accordance with the NASW standards for continuing professional education."

Please note:  Anyone who wishes to can take this Case Management Certificate Series. It is a skills-based program to further your knowledge of case management practices for aging clients in long-term care situations.  However this does not "certify" you to become a case manager.
