Professional Certificate Program on Mental Health and the Older Adult:
This certificate program begins with the July 2008 Summer Institute on Mental Health and the Older Adult. The topic is assessment and treatment of mental disorders in the older adult. This advanced training program is for licensed practitioners and allied health and human service professionals that work with older adults. |
Save the date. The Boys and Girls at Risk Conference July 21-22, 2008. This cutting edge conference will present the latest information on adolescent brain development, highlight sex-based brain differences and will conduct workshops demonstrating how gender sensitivity can lead to better outcomes when used with the existing programs and models. |

Our department — Professional Development and Applied Studies — is a leader in Wisconsin for providing professional continuing education programs for adults. We offer over 400 continuing education programs annually including workshops, conferences, classes, and distance education. In addition, our faculty and staff provide consultation and conduct applied research. Through our award-winning continuing education programs we have reached a wide spectrum of health and human service providers, community leaders and policy makers, professional practitioners, paraprofessionals, volunteers, managers, and the public.
