Picture of TerriTerri Bischoff joined Midnight Ink as an Acquiring Editor in October 2009.   She leads all editorial directions and creates the seasonal lists.  She has dramatically increased the number of titles per season, as well as expanded the type of crime fiction MI has published.   Terri has a wealth of experience and knowledge in both mysteries and in bookselling, having  been involved for 15 years in all areas of bookstore operations, particularly as book buyer and reviewer.  She has worked at Kramer Books in Washington, DC, and more recently, Terri owned and operated  Booked For Murder Mystery Bookstore in Madison, Wisconsin. 

 

John Bolger, AgentA native of Wisconsin, John Bolger attended Boston College for undergraduate school, where he studied English and was in the Pre-Law program.  After graduating, John taught English at UW- Milwaukee, where he obtained his PhD in English, Creative Writing.  He also attended Marquette University Law School, and he now works as an attorney and as a literary agent.  He has given several presentation regarding publishing, writing contracts, copyrights, and other issues involving the law and writing.  He started Middle West Literary Agency in 2006 and enjoys helping Midwestern writers get their work published.

KonnerLinda Konner has been in the publishing business for over 30 years, as an agent, author, editor, columnist and lecturer.  She has served as editor-in-chief of Weight Watchers Magazine and Richard Simmons’s monthly newsletter, Richard Simmons & Friends, and was a features editor at Redbook, Seventeen and Woman's World.  She was a columnist for Glamour and Fitness magazines, and her articles have appeared in dozens of publications, including The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, Playboy, The N.Y. Daily News, Cosmopolitan, TV Guide and Woman's Day.  Her controversial piece for New Woman magazine, "Living Apart and Loving It," became the basis for Donahue and Sally Jessy Raphael shows.        

Konner has lectured on book and magazine publishing at more than four dozen writers' conferences and colleges, including New York University, the Willamette Writers' Conference (Portland, Oregon), the Cape Cod Writers’ Conference, Brooklyn College, the BlissDom bloggers’ conference, and the University of Wisconsin (River Falls).

Konner is a member of the Association of Authors' Representatives, the Authors Guild, and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

 

Picture of McCleanAt Larsen-Pomada Literary Agents in San Francisco, Northern California’s oldest literary agency founded in 1972, Laurie McClean represents adult genre fiction (romance, fantasy, science fiction, horror, nouveau westerns, mysteries, suspense, thrillers, etc.) as well as middle-grade and young-adult books. She looks for great writing, first and foremost, followed by memorable characters, a searing storyline and solid world building.

For more than 20 years Laurie ran a multi-million dollar eponymous public relations agency in California's Silicon Valley. She is also a novelist herself, so she can empathize with the author's journey to and through publication.

picture of RossAndy Ross has been a literary agent since January 2008.  Prior to that, he was the owner of Cody's Books in Berkeley, California for 30 years.
Andy specializes in non-fiction, particularly narrative non-fiction, history, current events, and journalism as well as literary and young adult fiction. He has secured  book contracts in other genres as well. Andy has served on the faculty of numerous writers conferences and has conducted workshops on writing non-fiction book proposals and working with a literary agent.
