School of the Arts at Rhinelander

Computer Classes – SOA 2009

Computer Labs: The School District of Rhinelander is currently running a Windows 2000 operating system with Word, Excel, Publisher, Frontpage, and Access. A computer lab is available during the day for word processing, using the internet, accessing email, etc. There will be a Photoshop/Publisher lab available for students who are experienced in these areas, but please be aware that there will be no formal instruction in this lab. Macintosh software is not supported by the Rhinelander School system. Please plan accordingly.

Email Access:  If you need to check your email and are not using a web-based email account such as hotmail or MSN, check to see if your local provider offers a way for you to check your email account on the web. Most providers have this option. Wireless access is available in specific areas of the school building. The Rhinelander Public Library also has computers available.

Saving your work: Please bring a USB key/flashdrive, a 3.5 floppy disk, or CDs to save any work done in your classes. CD burners are available in the lab.

Photo Printing Policy: Students will be limited in their use of the color printer and will be charged for excessive printing ($2.50 a photo over 10 photos). Please view photos online before printing and print only the photos needed for class assignments. (CDs are available for purchase through the SOA store if you need to save your work.) Trigs will print photos in their film department for minimal fee.
