Business French

Are you interested in more opportunities to use your French? In our globalizing and interdependent world, proficient business French speakers are in demand. French is the language of the European Union, the United Nations, and the Olympic Games. French is also the second language of the Internet. And for tourism, France remains the world’s first choice.

Business French is a noncredit course for people interested in combining the study of French with the workplace, students interested in careers with a French component, and lifelong French learners.

Learning about French for business is helpful to any student or professional interested in French. Online learning allows you to go at your own pace without concern for distance or time limitations. Although you can work independently, you are closely guided by the instructor.

You will learn

  • an overview of French economy
  • important aspects of business in France, such as banking, insurance, the stock market, and transportation
  • specialized terminology of a French-speaking workplace
  • language skills needed to understand and discuss topics that relate to professional activities
  • an overview of cultural aspects of doing business in France

How it works

You can start anytime, and there are no required hours to log on. It's all done with one-on-one correspondence with the instructor using email. You can read and print course materials in the course web site, which you can access at your leisure with a password that we will give you. Because of the one-on-one nature of our workshops, you'll find them an excellent "coaching" or mentoring situation that will keep you going. And if you want to just work on your own, that's fine too. We're also here throughout the year if you have questions.
