Draw the world around you.

Online art course: drawing landscape

This web-based art course offers a unique approach to landscape drawing that will interest artists of every level of experience. Study techniques to help you draw what you see and feel about a particular scene. The four units of the course focus on these aspects of landscape:

Your work in each area leads you to two activities. A drawing assignment gives you the opportunity to explore each new technique. A brief written observation will help you gain further insight through reflection on your drawing experience. The instructor will provide written comments on both your drawing and your observations.

At the end of the course you will have created four polished pieces as a formal portfolio that presents your best work. This final portfolio also gives you the opportunity to look at your drawings over the entire course and to receive feedback from your instructor over your work as a whole.

Learn on your own schedule from any computer. The easy-to-use course Web site includes links to some of the finest landscape drawings in major museums, original landscape drawings by the instructor demonstrating techniques, and useful online resources.
