Absolutely! Our courses are open to community members of all ages and levels. They are relaxed, fun, and informal times for you to work on the skills you already have and develop new ones. If you are not sure which course level fits your skills, please contact us.
Our language classes are not for university credit but earn CEUs (Continuing Education Units). If you are interested in taking credit classes, please contact the Adult and Student Services Center.
Our classes are normally held on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus in the Helen C. White Building, Vilas Hall, or the Humanities Building, and meet in the evenings to fit around your schedule. Note: We will contact you with the exact location for your course the week before your class starts. The best places to park are in the Helen C. White parking lot (metered parking), or in the Lake St. parking ramp (hourly parking rates). To view an interactive map of the UW-Madison campus, click here: http://www.map.wisc.edu/
You can register via our online catalog, by calling 608-262-2451 and paying with a credit card, or by sending your registration form and check (payable to UW-Madison) to the Registration Office, 702 Langdon St, Madison, WI 53706.
Textbooks and other materials for our classes are available at The University Bookstore at 711 State St, in the lower level textbook department in the Outreach section.
This varies, but in general, we tailor the class requirements to meet your needs. There is no need to say “the dog ate my homework!”
Please contact Lori O'Neill at: 608-263-6322 or e-mail loneill@dcs.wisc.edu.
