Foreign language programs include:

• Madison Area Classes - Foreign language and culture classes are offered year round. Adult outreach programs may include French, German, Italian, Spanish, Norwegian and Polish & Russian. Programs serve a variety of skill levels and needs. Foreign language courses include language and conversation courses from beginner through advanced levels and reading knowledge classes and exams.
  
  
• Independent Learning - Courses in several foreign languages allow you to learn at your own pace and convenience, and in the comfort of your own home! Available for credit, noncredit continuing education units and for high school credit.
  
  
• Online Language Classes - Spanish classes taught online allow you the flexibility of learning from home at your own pace.
  
  
• Reading Knowledge Exams - Our department administers this exam for graduate students in the areas of French, German, and Spanish.
  
  
• Children's Classes - A variety of programs occur each semester for children aged 4 to 10 to study Spanish. You will find current descriptions of all upcoming language classes for children in the UW-Madison Continuing Studies catalog.
