Dr. Sage Goellner is a faculty associate in languages in Continuing Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she teaches French courses, directs independent learning French, German, and Italian programs, and coordinates several other language programs.

Dr. Goellner holds a PhD in French (UW-Madison), a Master’s Degree in French (University of Michigan), and a Bachelor’s Degree in French and English literature (UW-Madison). Prior to her current position, she was a visiting assistant professor of French at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She has taught French language and culture education at the university and continuing adult levels.

Sage Goellner has research interests in Francophone literature, immigration studies, and women’s writing. Her publications have appeared in The French Review and Equinoxes. She is an active member of the American Association of Teachers of French, the Modern Languages Association, and Women in French, and has presented at major professional conferences.

Dr. Goellner has spent much time living, studying, and working in France. In high school, she spent several months in Paris and Corsica. As an undergraduate, she lived at the UW-Madison’s Maison Française and studied abroad in Paris. During graduate school, she studied at the Université de Laval in Quebec, attended Bryn Mawr’s Institute in Avignon and taught at the University of Paris-Nanterre.
