Sage Goellner is a faculty associate and serves as the world languages coordinator and French instructor with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Division of Continuing Studies. She holds a PhD in French and Francophone literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master's degree in French Studies from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor's degree in French and English literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her main academic background focuses on the colonial period in France and Algeria. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience in places ranging from Appleton to Paris.
Sage is a member of the American Association of French Teachers, the African Literature Association, the Middle Eastern Studies Association, and the Modern Languages Association. Her publications on 19th-century French literature and 20th-century Francophone literature have appeared in Equinoxes and The French Review, and she has presented papers at several national and international conferences. She enjoys teaching and learning about language, literature, and culture with her students.
Before returning to Madison in 2007, Sage lived in Chicago. She has also lived, studied, and worked in Avignon, Paris, and Quebec.
The Department of Liberal Studies & the Arts is a part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Continuing Studies.
