Susan Wendlandt wendlandt@charter.net 715-387-6582 "Night Moves" - collograph Intaglio print "'Night Moves' is one of five in a series of prints honoring the art of dance.  Susan Kloch Wendlandt (SILK) also addresses her childhood memories of Ballroom dancing with her parents, night club dancing with her husband and watching her daughter Katherine dance at the Main Street Conservatory of Dance. "Night Moves" is an Original Intaglio Collograph Print.  It's created on a high quality matt board and the dancers are created from wall paper and sand paper.  The stars are glitter and household cement glue has been drizzled in a specific pattern to create the illusion of movement throughout the composition. All materials listed above have been arranged with thought to creating implied lines, texture and focal points before the materials are glued to the matt board.  When the materials are adhered, a fine coat of white glue is applied to both the front and backside of the collograph plate.  When the glue is dry, a coat of white, flat household paint is applied to seal the pores, fill the crevices and to allow for an easier inking process and a more effective transfer of the inks to create the desired image. "Night Moves" is printed on Rives BFK paper, hand inked and hand pulled on a Bunch Printing Press." Copyright is held by the artist.
