The WRAP Award Winners
Cynthia Christman bear2th@nnex.net "Power" - pastel on velour paper "I have loved and drawn animals since I was big enough to hold a crayon. I discovered pastels about four years ago, fell in love and a new world opened up for me. Horses are a favorite subject. The dichotomy of their gentleness in contrast with their power is a source of wonder. In this painting I sought to capture the explosive power horses are capable of. I made this guy a "blood bay" color and set him on a fiery background to evoke a sense of excitement as well as power."
