Donna Stehling Stehldm@chorus.net "Promise" - pen "This was an attempt to learn what the artists go through. I used a photo taken in the fall out on the portion of the prairie Dave Fordham had helped restore. While during the hospitatlity chores during our community visit with Santa (my job was to be a gopher and I didn't have to gopher anything but open and close), I laid down a pencil sketch - 2 hours. Ths ink portion took more time later. Then I had to prepare the sketch, mat and prepare to hang. I noticed it was the only of it's kind in the show and it didn't look out of place. Weather was awful for the workshop and critique. It surprised me that Victor selected my piece for a state award. His evaluation was stunning. I'm planning to do more such work."
