Altrusa Grant Fund Madison Chapter, Scholarship Information


The Madison Chapter of Altrusa International, a volunteer service organization of business and professional leaders, offers financial assistance to Dane County adults returning to school after an interruption in their education. Applicants must plan to attend a Madison-area accredited academic institution in a degree, diploma or certificate program and need financial assistance. The grants are open to both full- and part-time students for education-related costs such as tuition, books, childcare and transportation. At the end of the semester, recipients report to Altrusa on how the funds assisted their educational program.

Two scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded.

Eligibility

  • Serious financial obstacles to continuing their education.

  • Commitment to furthering their education/career goals.

  • Educational/career assessment from a college, community agency, service group, or career professional.

  • Preference to individuals pursuing their first post-high school degree or certificate.

Application deadlines: June 15 and October 15

Selection

The Altrusa Scholarship Committee reviews applications and selects recipients. Selection of recipients and management of the awards program are the responsibilities of the Altrusa Grant Committee of Altrusa International, Madison Chapter.
