This software program encompasses most photographic applications and makes working on your computer more productive. Workshop examines special applications such as applying copyright and other p to images, exporting images, and creating slideshows. We also review photos you've taken, photos you shoot during the class, and problematic sample images. Instructor: Michael Kienitz Adobe Photoshop: introductionThis hands-on workshop introduces the basic tools for preparing an image at the desired size and quality for print and for the Web. Learn how to: enhance, tone, size, and sharpen grayscale and color photos; determine correct resolution; remove scratches and dust; composite images; add type; clone portions of one image onto another; work with layers, and optimize images and graphics for the Web. Instructor: Michael Kienitz Adobe Photoshop: advancedThis hands-on workshop focuses on advanced aspects of tools, modes, image adjustments, layer masks, separations, calibration, process and spot color, and achieving predictable reproduction in a desktop prepress environment. NEW Digital photography: introductionDigital cameras let photographers bypass film and processing and view and store images directly on their computers. Working hands-on in this class, you explore the advantages and limitations of consumer-level (less than $1,000) cameras and learn how to get the best results from them. Topics include size, resolution, image enhancement in the computer and output. Bring your own digital camera. Instructor: Michael Kienitz Dreamweaver: introductionThis workshop acquaints you with MacroMedia’s powerful Web-design application. Topics include an overview of the Dreamweaver interface including the toolbar, property inspector, and objects panel. Learn how to set up a basic home page. Instructor: Celeste Anton Effective strategies for evaluating and improving Web sitesWeb sites can be a cost effective and powerful method of communicating and connecting with audiences. Through case-study presentations, the instructor demonstrates best business practices, available technology (including low-cost or no-cost options), search engine optimization, hosting options, e-mail marketing, blogging, and using audio/video. This is an overview for those who want to build or improve their Web site; it is not a hands-on computer workshop.
