Divorce mediation unit 1

At this two-day workshop you learn the principles of the mediation process and the skills and techniques needed to help individuals resolve conflict cooperatively. Unit 1 covers basic mediation techniques, understanding conflict and diagnosing disputes, and developing conflict-resolution skills. Completion of units 1 and 2 meets the required 25 hours of mediation training for Wisconsin Act 355. You’re encouraged to take both units.

Divorce mediation unit 2

At this two-day workshop you learn how to reframe issues, identify needs and interests, generate options, and reach agreement. Also review effects of power imbalances on the mediation process, explore professional conduct issues, and learn how to establish a mediation practice. Completion of units 1 and 2 meets the required 25 hours of mediation training for Wisconsin Act 355. You’re encouraged to take both units.

Mediation and domestic abuse: problems, policies and procedures

In this workshop we examine the arguments for and against mediation in situations of domestic abuse. We also examine screening policies and procedures, as well as the special skills and techniques used by mediators in relationships involving domestic abuse.
