Cancelled: Latin American Musical Traditions

Taught bilingually, this 8-week course will cover folk, traditional and popular music practices in various Latin American cultures. Mainly through audio-visual material we will look at the cross-cultural Amerindian, European, and African influences, and the different social, political, cultural and historical processes that have come to inform the musical culture and practices.
