Credit Outreach and Extended Day

Below please find links to the “Operational Principles for Credit Outreach for FY09”, along with the call for proposals for both Credit Outreach and Extended Day funding for the 2008-2009 Academic Year. Credit Outreach and Extended Day funds are available to assist schools and colleges to develop and sustain degree and credit-bearing programs designed to serve working adults and nontraditional students. For a more complete description of each of these funding mechanisms and its intended use download the following documents:

Call for Proposals for Credit Outreach (104-2) for FY09
program proposal, funding criteria, enrollment projection worksheet, budget worksheet

Call for Proposals for Extended Day (101-2) for FY09
Extended Day program proposal

There are substantial changes in the use of these funds for FY09, so please read the funding mechanism descriptions carefully.

Credit Outreach and Extended Day call for proposals are solicited through the Outreach Deans. Please distribute this call for proposals to department chairs, unit heads, and other interested faculty and staff.

Funding proposals are being solicited at this time for the full FY09 academic year (summer 2008, fall 2008 and spring 2009). Schools and colleges should make their requests for funding for the entire 2008-2009 academic year—including summer 2008—at this time.

November 30, 2007: Deadline for returning completed funding proposals to the Division of Continuing Studies. You should establish your own internal deadlines to insure that proposals will be completed, reviewed, and prioritized by you before forwarding them to DCS.

Early January 2008: Funding allocation decisions for the 2008-2009 academic year will be made and communicated to the schools and colleges.

We recognize that some of the specific courses identified in this planning process may change between now and the time the courses are offered. Because we are required to track individual courses supported by these funds, if you change course offerings, you need to notify the Division of Continuing Studies of those changes. Each semester you will be asked to verify which courses are being supported with these funds. All courses supported by these funds must meet the stated criteria for funding, and changes in course offerings may not be approved if the proposed changes result in courses not meeting the funding criteria.

If you have questions or concerns about the funding process, call Katy Duren at 263-5114.
