Medieval History Seminars Abroad: Burgundy

Plans are underway for our 36th medieval study tour. This spring seminar will explore the rich history, art and architecture, and lovely countryside of Burgundy. Its special focus is on the wonderful Romanesque monuments of the region. The tentative itinerary includes visits to Vézelay, Autun, Auxerre, Fontenay, Semur-en-Auxois, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Dijon, Beaune, La Rochepot, Tournus, Cluny, Berzé-la-Ville, Brancion, Chapaize, Charlieu, Paray-le-Monial, La Chaise-Dieu, Le Puy, Troyes, Provins, Jouarre, along with a few days in Paris.

Medieval History Seminars Abroad: Germany

September 21-October 4, 2012

Our fall 2012 medieval tour is scheduled to return to Germany with a special focus on Saxony’s historic churches, abbeys, castles, and towns. The tentative itinerary includes the following major sites: Magdeburg, Halberstadt, Quedlinburg, Gernrode, Wernigerode, Goslar, Wolfenbüttel, Naumburg, Querfurt, Erfurt, Eisenach/Wartburg Castle, Alsfeld, Marburg, Hildesheim, Wienhausen, Celle, Luneburg, Havelburg and other monuments, along with a few days to explore Berlin.
