Your holiday weekend begins Thursday evening as we return to Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center for a stylish evening of dinner and world-class jazz. Get to know your fellow travelers while enjoying great music and the spectacular views of the New York skyline across Central Park. This evening is sure to get your weekend off to a great start.
Friday is unscheduled so you can enjoy some time on your own in the city at this special time of year, and that evening you will rejoin the group for the first stage production of one of the most beloved films of all time: Irving Berlin’s White Christmas! Featuring some of the greatest songs ever written this is guaranteed to be a wonderful evening on Broadway.
At our popular educational seminar on Saturday morning you’ll meet and talk to one of the actors from White Christmas and, that evening you settle into your seat as the New York Philharmonic performs three gorgeous and soulful works: the exuberant Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta by Bela Bartók; the jazz and blues influenced Piano Concerto in G Major by Maurice Ravel and the lush layered sounds of La Mer by Claude Debussy!
On Sunday morning you will enjoy a private guided visit of the magnificent medieval art collection at The Cloisters Museum. This is truly one of the most extraordinary locations in all of New York City and if you’ve never been there then you are in for a marvelous surprise. Its stunning setting on the bluffs overlooking the Hudson River, along with the priceless collection of paintings, sculptures and artifacts promise a memorable conclusion to your holiday weekend.
As always, you’ll have plenty of time to shop, see the sights, and enjoy the energy of New York City at its most exciting time of year. Start your holiday season in high style with old friends, new acquaintances and an educational travel experience that you will remember for a lifetime!
