Medieval Burgundy

Medieval History Seminars Abroad: Burgundy

May 17-June 2, 2012

Plans are underway for our 36th medieval study tour. This spring seminar will explore the rich history, art and architecture, and lovely countryside of Burgundy. Its special focus is on the wonderful Romanesque monuments of the region. The tentative itinerary includes visits to Vézelay, Autun, Auxerre, Fontenay, Semur-en-Auxois, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Dijon, Beaune, La Rochepot, Tournus, Cluny, Berzé-la-Ville, Brancion, Chapaize, Charlieu, Paray-le-Monial, Troyes, Provins, Jouarre, along with a few days in Paris. Tour information available after November 1, 2011.

Niagra-on-the-lake lakeMusic
Spoleto Festival

Charleston, SC
June 1-4, 2012

We are now accepting registrations for our trip to North America's premier performing arts festival: Spoleto Festival USA!  Artists and performers from all over the world gather in Charleston for an outstanding weekend of culture and history. This year’s schedule includes a performance by Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet; the new opera, Kepler, by Philip Glass; a morning at the popular Chamber Music Series; and two plays, Noel Coward’s Hay Fever, by Dublin’s Gate Theater, and the incomparable The Animals and Children Took To The Streets, by the award-winning company, 1927. There is also a fascinating History of Charleston Lecture and a morning walking tour through one of Charleston’s many historic neighborhoods. Join us for one of our most popular destinations.

Tanzania

June 17-July 2, 2012

Extraordinary wildlife, magnificent landscapes and wonderful people make Tanzania one of the world's most exciting and rewarding travel destinations. We'll visit Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, take a day trip down towards Lake Eyasi to visit with the nomadic Hadzabe people as well as the Datoga people, then we're off for a four-night stay at a bush camp in the incomparable Serengeti National Park, concluding with a visit to Olduvai Gorge and a day on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater!

Spanish immersion and service: learning in Ecuador

June 23-July 9, 2012

Attend one of the best schools in Latin America and work in the volunteer program as you immerse yourself in language and culture while making a difference in the lives of many people. Medieval Germany

Medieval History Seminars Abroad: Germany

September/October 2012

Our fall 2012 medieval tour is scheduled to return to Germany with a special focus on Saxony’s historic churches, abbeys, castles, and towns. The tentative itinerary includes the following major sites: Magdeburg, Halberstadt, Quedlinburg, Gernrode, Wernigerode, Goslar, Wolfenbüttel, Naumburg, Querfurt, Erfurt, Eisenach/Wartburg Castle, Alsfeld, Marburg, Hildesheim, Wienhausen, Celle, Luneburg, Havelburg and other monuments, along with a few days to explore Berlin. Tour information available after February 1, 2012.

School of the Arts at Rhinelander: Each summer more than 300 people come to northern Wisconsin for one week of intensive learning and creative activity in a supportive environment. The School of the Arts offers more than 55 workshops for adults, regardless of experience level, in visual art, arts management, creative writing, computer art, music, photography, theatre and drama, movement, and relaxation.
