June 22-25, 2010

Teaching for Cultural Relevance through Music Repertoire is a four-day workshop designed for school instrumental, choral, and general music teachers at all education levels in which issues of diversity are addressed through performance repertoire. The participants will observe the clinicians as they work with the Clinic ensembles, and will work in individualized sessions/seminars to discuss pedagogy issues, to teach/conduct their group of peers performing in ensembles, and to explore conducting issues. The workshop sessions will be presented by UW-Madison professors Teryl Dobbs (band), Janet Jensen (strings), and Deborah Bradley (choir).
