Come learn Portuguese with us! Portuguese is the sixth most spoken language in the world and is the language of Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde, among other countries. As an added plus, Portuguese is easy to learn for English speakers and students of Spanish and French. Learn the sounds of Carnaval, Bossa Nova, Samba, and Fado with us!

Conversational Portuguese classes in Madison
Portuguese conversation 1: This course is appropriate for people of any age who wish to learn Portuguese as quickly as possible. Learn the language through an interactive and practical approach that incorporates cultural information on Brazil. We use various in-class activities to cover basic grammar in the context of daily situations in Brazilian culture.

Portuguese conversation-ongoing: Continue learning Portuguese through a fast, interactive, and practical approach. Improve your listening and speaking skills with an increased emphasis on reading and writing. Practice conversing in Portuguese with a native speaker who incorporates cultural and historical information on Brazil. Use various in-class activities to study grammar in the context of daily situations in Brazilian culture. Instructor: Sandra Elena Lizana Terra.

Your instructor
Robin Peery (PhD candidate, UWMadison) has taught French, Portuguese, and Spanish and studied in Montréal, Lisbon, and Rio de Janeiro. He also speaks Italian, has studied Greek and Serbo-Croatian, and is learning Hebrew.
