Online classes

A growing selection of online classes allows you to pursue your interests in art, music, languages and writing at your own pace. All the while enjoying one-on-one interaction with your instructor.

Festivals and Conferences

In winter, we bring together theatre producers and performers at the Wisconsin Theatre Auditions and Workshops. For over 30 years, theatre producers have participated in the opportunity to interview potential technical, design and management staff as well as audition actors, singers and dancers. The program always yields strong employment statistics for actors and technicians who participate. In addition, we offer a series of theatre workshops taught by producers and theatre educators.

In spring, the Writers’ Institute helps writers improve their work and provides the opportunity to connect with professional agents and editors.

The summer Write-by-the-Lake Writer’s Retreat, allows writers to spend a week delving deeply into their genre of choice. Expanded to cover 12 genres and this program draws together more than 120 writers.

The Madison Early Music Festival, held every summer since 2000, brings together world-renowned performers, scholars, and students of medieval, renaissance, and baroque music for a week of classes, concerts, and lectures.

For nearly 50 years, more than 250 people have gathered at School of the Arts at Rhinelander in northern Wisconsin for a week of study, performance, exhibits, and other creative activities. Participants choose from over 45 classes to craft their own mix of creative exploration and renewal.

Educational Travel

Each year Continuing Studies expands the boundaries of learning and encourages a global perspective through exciting and enrichment educational travel opportunities. Popular domestic and international group tours focus on performing arts, visual arts, culture and history. Designed by our own faculty and academic staff, they provide unique learning experiences through lectures, tours, expert local guides and stimulating discussions.
