Dance Master Class and Guest Artist Series

This series of workshops, lectures and master classes highlight diverse dance styles taught by acclaimed artists. They provide the rares opportunity to work closely with dance masters in the Madison area.

These exciting events introduce dance artists and teachers to the community. They share their knowledge of dance through master classes, dance technique workshops and free public lectures. This series provides experience, education, and fun for local dancers and dance enthusiasts of all levels. All events and classes are open to the public.

Some classes require pre-registration and a class fee—details follow.

Instructor Joan Melton

The Voice/Movement Connection Workshop

Dancers, actors, singers don’t miss this opportunity to study movement with Joan Melton, author of “One Voice”, the acclaimed text for training stage performers. 

In this three-hour workshop, Joan Melton uses her experience as a performer, music director, and voice/text coach to help guide you through a series of vocal and movement exercises exploring alignment, breathing, resonance, articulation and connection.  She will also introduce you to cutting-edge breath management strategies designed to benefit anyone who wishes to improve their performance skills.
