Dance, Movement, and Fitness Classes

Where are the classes held?

Many of the dance, movement and fitness classes are held at the State Street Center (122 State Street). Tap classes are at Tapit (1957 Winnebago Street). Other classes are at the Lowell Center (610 Langdon Street). The location of the class will be listed with its description and will appear on your confirmation slip after you register.

Where can I park?

There are several parking options near where our classes meet:

  1. The Johnson Street/Dayton Street Ramp (near the State Street Center).
  2. Grainger Hall parking between University Avenue and Johnson Street (enter from Brooks Street). Some parking meters at $1.00 an hour (near the 905 University Avenue Building).
  3. The Lake Street Ramp between University Avenue and State Street (enter off Frances Street or Lake Street), $1.00 an hour, $2.00 all day Saturday and Sunday.
  4. Lot 46 between University Avenue and Johnson Street (enter off Frances Street or Lake Street) $1.00 an hour parking meters.
  5. Fluno Center Visitor Parking is now available. The booth is staffed from 7 a.m. to 10 pm M-Sat. Rates are based on arrival time. 7 a.m.-Noon - $6.00; 12-4 pm - $3.00; after 4 pm - $2.00. Saturday parking costs $2.00. Evening and Saturday rates will be $1.00 more when there are events at the Kohl Center.

What is the class attire?

Please check the catalogue copy for specified attire. Attend the first class and get specific attire and shoe requirements. Comfortable attire suitable for movement for most classes.

Do I need previous training to take these classes?

Classes are available for the beginning, intermediate, and advanced student, both teens and adults. Class levels are identified in the title and the course description. If the class level is not designated it is a class suitable for the beginning student. The instructors give each student individual attention.
