Dr. Jamie Henke is a Faculty Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she teaches music theory, music history, jazz and appreciation courses for the Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts and the School of Music. She is the coordinator of the Independent Learning program in music. She also teaches two non-credit online courses in music theory and composition. She teaches Music 660-151 Basic Concepts of Music for the School of Music.

In 2006, Dr. Henke was the recipient of the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. She is a member of the UW-Madison Teaching Academy, and this spring she was invited to serve on the Teaching Academy Executive Committee. Dr. Henke has been heavily involved with the Engage program on campus. This program transforms teaching and learning through technology. To date she has won two podcasting grants, a collaborative learning project grant, and a simulations and games grant. She was also invited to serve as a faculty advisor for the collaborative learning project grant. Dr. Henke is currently working on two new simulation and game proposals for the Engage program. Her work for the podcasting grants is published on itunes U. She is one of the co-founders of the Macro Analysis Creative Research Organization, dedicated to the improvement of all aspects of music learning through enhanced pedagogical techniques.

Dr. Henke is the author of a new and innovative online textbook. At this time there are two versions of the text available, the first edition "Musical Palette," published by Atomic Dog publishers, and a second edition “Theory Gizmos” published by the Textbook Consortium. The book is available in an interactive online format with both visual animations and sound, as well as in a traditional print format.

Dr. Henke continues to be an active performer. She has appeared on many recitals, and performs on a regular basis at other area churches. Her repertoire includes works that range from J. S. Bach to Gershwin and Kern. She is currently a children's choir director at Bethel Lutheran Church.
