June Buchanan watercolorsforu@aol.com"Under the Sea III" - Chinese pigment on cicada paper "I have studied spontaneous and elaborate styles of Chinese brush painting since 1998. From the first brush stroke, I began a love affair with the disciplined and exacting form of Chinese brush painting that transcends centuries and blends spirit, mind, and body. Early works are traditional Chinese compositions. More recent works, as in the sea turtle on display here, combine traditional Chinese brush painting techniques with contemporary images to express my individual style and interests. I spend time in the tropics scuba diving each year."
