The WRAP Award Winners
Dorothy Bausch dbausch@tds.net"Freedom Flowers" - watercolor and collage "I have been actively painting since my youngest child of ten (now 39 years old!) was age two. My main choice of medium has always been watercolor, though I have worked in most other mediums. This painting is a watercolor. In 2007 I attended the WRAP program and workshop in Mineral Point. The workshop was about making artist's exchange cards and a cover for them. It not only was fascinating, but later it occurred to me that I could make simple color studies with these cards that would make inspiration for small paintings and perhaps later use them for studies for larger paintings. This painting, "Freedom Flowers" was one of the results of these small paintings. I am attempting to use the idea of a subject matter in color without getting technical and am so enthused with the results that I plan on making many more of them."
