The WRAP Award Winners
Dorothea Johnson (608) 592-5164"Daddy's Hat" - watercolor "I love water color. My interest in monochromatic portraits stemmed from a painting class I attended at the University of Wisconsin - Baraboo. We ground our own pigment, then made egg tempra for one painting and used gum arabic as the vehicle for the second painting. I enjoy painting members of my family. I changed to Yarka semi dry pan paints instead of grinding my own pigments. Burnt Umber gives the impression of old sepia prints - nostalgic."
