CASI Minutes

September 2006

Present: Katy Duren, Christina Finet, Miranda McClenaghan, Antonio Noguera, and Martin Rouse.

Discussion of Professional Development Grants, Academic Staff Assembly meeting on Sept. 11, getting involved in the process of Howard Martin's retirement and replacement, and getting another representative on CASI to replace Moira.

Action items:

We decided to send an e-mail to the division through Dorothy encouraging people to apply for Professional Development Grants, as well as inviting someone to apply for the seat on the DCS CASI.

Regarding the Dean's replacement, we agreed that Miranda would draft a letter to Provost Patrick Farrell requesting academic staff participation in the process, in particular: the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the position description and interview questions prior to them being made available to the job candidates; and academic staff representation on the search committee.
