Greetings CASI members

Today's meeting was successful, despite my best efforts at confusing everyone by unwittingly changing the time we were supposed to start. For the record, the next meeting is Weds Nov 7 at 10:30, and we'll meet in Lowell. Alan or Sarah, could you reserve us a room and them let us know where we should meet?

Even without Alan and Christina, we managed to accomplish a couple of things:
1.  Christina was elected Chair (2 votes for Christina v. Christina's in absentia vote for Alan)
2.  Alan was elected ASEC representative

The two members casting votes want the record to show that Christina and Alan were elected for their wisdom and experience as CASI members and not because they missed the meeting ;-)

We also discussed the need for a CASI member from PDAS - I will send a follow-up reminder to Jim Campbell and Bobbi asking for names.

Finally, Sarah reported that the issue of the two Lowell departments potentially merging into a single department was brought up at the last LSA meeting. We decided that the CASI may want to play a role in helping articulate some possible new governance models for the newly unified department
