Committee on Academic Staff Issues (CASI)

Mission

"The academic staff of each school, college, or division shall establish a Committee on Academic Staff Issues, which shall advise the dean or director on the formulation and review, and shall be represented in the development, of all policies and procedures concerning academic staff members of the school, college or division, including personnel matters. School, college or division policies and procedures shall comply with UW-Madison Academic Staff Policies and Procedures and other campus policies and procedures governing academic staff." The DCS CASI represents the 47 academic staff members in the division who comprise about 55% of division personnel (classified=35%; faculty=10%).

Goals of DCS CASI

Increase the visibility and value of CASI, primarily by serving as a resource for academic staff.  DCS CASI will establish a CASI page on the Division site, with information about DCS CASI’s activities, and links to other campus resources of interest to academic staff.

Promote lifelong learning internally by promoting and publicizing opportunities for professional development and personal enrichment, both internally and across campus, to DCS academic staff.

Meeting Schedule and Location

First Wednesday of the month at 11 am. Location alternates between 1305 Linden Dr—Middleton Bldg, 3rd floor, and 610 Langdon St—Lowell Center, 7th floor.
